William Kiang is the founder of Kiang Immigration Law. For more than 30 years, William’s practice has focused exclusively on helping clients with all aspects of immigration law. His practice specializes in addressing difficult and complex issues at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS), immigration courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), and circuit courts of appeal. He provides comprehensive immigration legal services to individuals, families, and employers. Clients trust in his knowledge and experience in immigration matters and value his dedication to providing an exceptional level of client service.
Born in Qingdao, Shandong province, William’s life began in China. As a child, he emigrated to Hong Kong with his parents. After relocating to the United States, he completed his university studies and went on to earn a law degree in 1989.
William began his distinguished career in immigration law as an Assistant Chief Counsel for the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS). During his seven years of government service, he developed extensive knowledge of immigration law and an enduring interest in assisting immigrants. His INS background provides William with a valuable perspective and distinctive insight into the immigration process.
In 1995, William transitioned to private practice by opening his own law office to offer the benefit of his years of immigration experience to individuals and families. By successfully addressing the wide-ranging needs of his clients and providing comprehensive immigration services, William built Kiang Immigration Law into a preeminent immigration law firm with an exceptional reputation in the community and the legal profession.
William’s immigration law practice spans the full range of legal concerns, including individual, family-based, employment-based, and humanitarian. Over more than three decades of practice, William has helped thousands of clients successfully navigate the U.S. immigration system. His hands-on approach and high success rate in immigration cases, which includes published precedent cases in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the U.S. Board of Immigration Appeals, bring William praise from clients and other lawyers who refer challenging cases to him. His knowledge and experience have earned him recognition in the legal profession as a “lawyer’s lawyer.”
In his practice, William works with clients around the world. He is particularly well known for his dedication to serving the Asian community. His clients include people from Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. His trilingual fluency in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Cantonese enables William to communicate directly with Asian clients in many situations, which clients greatly appreciate.
Building trust with a client is always a priority. William takes a hands-on approach and works tirelessly and wholeheartedly toward final success in every case, which ensures that every client has confidence in his knowledge, responsibility, and accessibility throughout the case. The success of his approach is demonstrated by the fact that most clients come to the firm through referrals from previous clients and other lawyers.
William and John Kiang (his son) work closely together in the practice. Clients benefit substantially from their collaboration and their complementary strengths and skills. Both attorneys share a dedication to serving the needs of clients by providing high caliber, effective, and efficient legal services, no matter what type of immigration services the client needs.
